DAV Public School, SAIL-BSL, Gua (Co-Ed., CBSE – Affiliated), is a thirty years old young school, managed under the care and guidance of DAV Organization and Steel Authority of India Limited. The school is located in a mining town named Gua with a population of 12,554 (Census-2011) and a literacy rate of 78.05% in the Chotanagpur plateau on the bank of R. Karo.
It has a vibrant campus of 9510 sq. mts., with a total strength of 1016 students, which comprises 238 SAIL-Wards, 184 Supply/Contractual Wards, 529 Non-Sail-Wards, 20 Staff-Wards and 45 students under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
It has 41 staff out of which 11 are non-teaching and 30 are teaching staffs. The school has been extending its best possible effort to promote ethical, moral and scientific spirit based on vedic values, which has been the mission of DAV Movement since its origin.
The MOU (SAIL) was signed for the opening of this School on 6th Dec’ 1991 between M/S Steel Authority of India Ltd. and DAV College Trust and Management Society for the period of 30 years. Initially, the school started with its classed from LKG to Std. I with its establishment date on 20-Jul-1992 having 34 students, 2 non-teaching staffs, 4 teaching staffs including 1 Principal. It had its affiliation of Std. X on 01-Apr-1998 with 18 teaching – staffs and 247 students. The students performed well with 100% result. The affiliation of Std. XII was found on 01-Apr-2006. With the passing of years, the school not only improved its academic records but also achieved remarkably in National Sports organized by DAVCMC, New Delhi.
Thus, the school pursues for thoughts, not content and for academic, moral, ethical, scientific, physical and spiritual constitution of its students through different spaces and strategies.
